Once the must reaches the desired degree of sweetness (usually within 48 hours), fortification takes place with the addition of grape spirit at 77% alcohol by volume.

Graham’s, which is one of the most respected names in the Port trade, is also one of the most innovative and has firmly established itself as the world’s leading luxury Port house through the development of its premium wines.

It's packed with mellow, raisin fruit and fig flavours, with a long, luscious caramel-flavoured finish. For example, they mention that it arrived well packaged, looks great in their presentation tubes, and is delivered excellently. All of Graham’s Tawny Ports have their own individual characteristics, the complex flavours and aromas that pervade each of these unique wines have been developed through selecting only our top quality wines from Graham’s four spectacular Quinta’s in the Douro Valley to age in seasoned oak casks in our 1890 Lodge in Vila Nova de Gaia.

The driver will input your year of birth into their device and may then require an ID check to complete the age verification process. Today, five Symington cousins share responsibility for every aspect of the company and personally make the Graham's wines. These are among the most demanding and challenging styles of Port to produce requiring great skill and years of experience from the winemaker and blender. It is sometimes referred to as the Alto Douro (upper Douro), as it is located some distance upstream from Porto, sheltered by mountain ranges from coastal influence. They too have been involved with Port and the Douro for many generations, with ancestry dating back to the mid-17th century. The move to non-traditional, clear glass bottles that accentuate the amber hues of the wines has been instrumental in changing consumer perceptions, and Graham’s have built on this success by introducing very rare Single Harvest wines in the same format. Graham’s Ten Year Old Tawny port is a wine made in a very different way to that of it’s ruby cousin.

I like Tawny port to have a bit of heat in it this is smooth and fruity but without the heat its just a little bit boring. Graham's "10 Years Old" is our tribute to craftsmanship, a tribute to the passion for excellence and unmatched precision at the heart of every handmade Aged Tawny Port. After a decade of care and slow oak-maturation this wine is a wonderful example of the complex flavours of Tawny Port. Graham's was one of the first port companies to invest in its own vineyards in Portugal’s Douro Valley in 1890.

Graham's was one of the first Port companies to invest in its own vineyards in Portugal's Douro Valley in 1890 and is now at the cutting edge of innovation in winemaking techniques. An array of flavours, from delicate fruit and raisins, to toasted toffee and chocolate, with an outstanding aftertaste. A key part of this approach has been the development of its Aged Tawnies where Graham’s has successfully transformed the way in which its wines are presented. They have been developed through selecting only our top quality wines from Graham’s four spectacular Quinta’s in the Douro Valley.
